One thousand guests took part today in a reception sponsored by the Tenth Anniversary of Israel Committee which was held in Rome’s famous Palazzo Braschi. Among those attending the event were Parliamentary and Government officials, diplomats, army officials and leaders of the Italian Jewish communities. The Palazzo Braschi was made available for the celebration by the Mayor of Rome.

Israel’s accomplishments in establishing a “real democracy” in the Middle East as a “brilliant example” to her neighbors were praised by Prof. Arangio Ruiz, president of the Tenth Anniversary Committee, Randolgo Pacciardi, former Defense Minister and Republican party leader, and Salvatore Aldiosio, Democratic Christian Senator.

Israel’s strong defense forces combined with “a deep desire for peace, ” were lauded in a message to the reception from Luigi. Einaudi, former president of Italy, who also extended his wishes to Israel for “constant progress along the road on its glorious resurrection.”
