M. Debre’s wife is also active in Jewish affairs, and is a contributor to “Evidence,” the publication of the American Jewish Committee in Paris, for which she writes on Jewish subjects. M. Debre fought with the French Resistance during World War II. When de Gaulle formed his provisional government after the war, M. Debre served with the General as a legal expert.
