LONDON (Jul. 13)
Sir Leslie Plummer, member of the British Parliament, reporting on a recent visit to the United States, told a meeting of the Labor Zionists here today that during his visit to the South in the United States, he was disturbed to find “many active signs” of anti-Semitism. He added that while such activities were being combatted, he felt it was not wise to underestimate the “menace” which this condition represented.
Sir Leslie said he was greatly impressed by the “particularly generous way” in which American Jewry has helped Israel. He reported he found that leaders in aliases of life in the United States were favorably disposed toward Israel and that Israel’s representatives there were doing “a magnificent job” in forming favoring public opinion toward the Jewish State.
