Prices of Cigarettes, Alcohol and Cooking Gas Go Up in Israel

A general increase in the price of cigarettes, alcohol and cooking gas went into effect throughout Israel today in the wake of an increase in customs taxes. The increase, between 10 and 15 percent, is understood to be intended to provide revenue to meet some of the needs of the current Middle East political situation.
