U.S. Making Arrangements to Resume Flights over Israel to Jordan

Arrangements are being made in Israel for the resumption of American flights across Israeli territory to supply British troops in Jordan, it was understood here today following yesterday’s meeting between Israel Ambassador Abba Eban and Acting Secretary of State Christian Herter.

Mr. Eban, accompanied by Shimon Peres, director general of Israel’s Defense Ministry, called yesterday on Mansfield Sprague, Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security. They also called on Rear Admiral C.K. Bergin, Director of Regional Affairs at the Pentagon. They discussed security affais in the Middle East with both American officials. Ranking members of Congress and military officers of the U.S. forces attended a luncheon in honor of Mr, Peres tendered today by Ambassador Eban.
