Twenty percent of all the polished diamonds marketed throughout the world last year were processed in Israel, according to statistics issued here today, showing this country’s increasing importance as a diamond-polishing center.
Israel last year exported in excess of $32, 500, 000 worth of diamonds, processed in plants employing 3,400 polishers. Seven more diamond-polishing plants are being established in this country now.
