New trends in modern Israel literature will be considered at a two-day conference on Israel Writing and Israel Writers which will open Saturday night at the The odor Herzl Institute here. A panel of 18 authors, lecturers and critics will review developments in Israel plays, novels and short stories during Israel’s first ten years of existence.
The conference will open with greetings from the Israel Government which will be presented by David Ben Dov, Literary Attache of the Israel Embassy of Washington. The second day of the meeting will present a series of lectures and group sessions.
An evening session Sunday will conclude the conference. That session will be addressed by Dr. Samuel Blumenfield, director of the Department of Education and Culture of the Jewish Agency, and Dr. Mordecai Kamrat, Israeli educator and linguist.
