A total of $35,000,000 has been raised in the United States and Canada during the last ten years for the medical, welfare and vocational training services of the Histadrut in Israel, it was reported here today by the National Committee for Labor Israel at the opening session of its 50th annual convention.

In presenting these figures, Dr. Dov Biegun said that approximately $27,000,000 had been raised by the campaigns conducted by the NCLI, of which he is national secretary, and $8,000,000 by the Pioneer Women’s Organization, which is affiliated with the Labor Zionist movement in this country.

More than 2,500 delegates from the United States and Canada are attending the NCLI convention which will be addressed by Moshe Sharett, former Prime Minister of Israel. A tribute to 350 “old timers” who were among the founders of the Histadrut campaign 35 years ago, will be tendered Sunday. Illuminated scrolls will be presented to the veterans who built up the fund-raising effort from an annual income of $50,000 to nearly $4,000,000.
