Israeli Military Planes “violated” Gaza Air Space, Cairo Charges

The United Arab Republic charged today that four Israeli military planes violated the Gaza Strip are space. A protest was made to the Egyptian-Israeli Mixed Armistice Commission, according to a report from Cairo.

Israel’s seizure of a small Egyptian ship off Haifa Saturday was also protested by the UAR. The UAR demanded immediate release of the 150-ton Mossoud, its cargo and crew. The UAR said the Israeli Navy seized the Egyptian ship on the high seas 25 miles off the Israeli coast.

From Israel it was reported today that officials in Haifa were interrogating an Egyptian crew which blundered into Haifa harbor under the mistaken impression they were at Beirut, Lebanese port. The captain, who said he had no navigation Instruments, reported that he was en route from Alexandria to Beirut with a cargo of salt and mats in the 150 ton “Massoud.” The small craft carried a crew of seven.
