A new plant for the processing of phosphates will soon be constructed at Demona in the Negev, it was announced here today. The cost of the plant is estimated at 20,000,000 Israeli pounds. The plant, one of the largest in the country, will be built by Histadrut. In the first full year of operation, the plant is expected to export ten thousand tons of phosphates and bring between $2,000,000 and $3,000,000 in foreign currency.
