Israeli police initiated today an investigation into the identify of three Israeli young women allegedly arrested by United Arab Republic authorities in a villa in the Gaza Strip which, the Arab assert, was also occupied by three Caradian soldiers assigned to the United Nations Emergency Force in the Strip.

UNEF liaison officers here were asked to verify the identity of the three girls. In recent days, the police said, they had received no missing persons alarm for them. According to Arab news reports, the three men and three women were arrested last Wednesday.

An Israel soldier was wounded last night in an exchange of fire with Jordanians in the Mount Hebron area marking the first incident on the Jordanian border in months. A military spokesman said that the Jordanians opened fire on an Israel patrol which returned the fire.
