The Jewish Daily Forward announced this week-end that agreements had been reached with employes assuring continuation of publication. The Yiddish-language daily earlier had said it would have to suspend on February 8 unless labor costs were reduced.
Alexander Kahn, general manager of the sixty-one-year-old newspaper, said the agreements provided for a reduction of about 15 percent of the 250 employes and a tightening up on overtime work. The newspaper has a circulation of 80, 000.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
