Rene Moatti, President of the Paris Municipal Council (Mayor) in 1952-53, has been elected to the key post of chairman of the Constitutional. Law, Legislation and General Administration of the Republic Commission of the French National Assembly.
M. Moatti has long been active in Jewish communal affairs in France and in North Africa and has been affiliated with several Jewish organizations here. He was one of the Jewish candidates elected to Parliament on Deputy Premier Jacques Soustelle’s Union for the New Republic slate.
