Israel’s “doorway to Afro-Asia,” the Gulf of Akaba port of Elath, has increased its shipping threefold in the last year, according to Israel’s topmost shipping circles. Zim-Israel Lines, stressing the threefold rise in the last 12 months, announced today that the monthly cargo tonnage at Elath has gone up from 3,000 tons per month to 10,000.
