Carlos L. Israels, New York attorney, has been elected president of United Hias Service, it was announced here today. Murray I. Gurfein, formerly a member of the administrative committee of the American Jewish Committee and former president of Hias was chosen chairman of the Hias executive committee, the policy forming group of the global migration organization.
James P. Rice was designated executive director. Edwin Rosenberg and Daniel G. Ross were chosen chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the agency’s national council.
