Foreign Minister Golda Meir offered Israel’s cooperation to the Arab States in reclaiming their desert wastes if they would make peace with Israel. The new bid was made by Mrs. Meir in a May Day celebration here in which she said that Israel still held out its hand in peace to the Arabs. If peace would come, she added, Israel would be ready to contribute to the Arab countries its experience and know-how in the conquest of the desert and in turning their vast arid and uncultivated areas into fertile land.
