Dr. Moshe Tov, head of the Foreign Ministry’s Latin American division since the State was established, and for years a member of Israel’s delegation to the United Nations with the rank of full Ambassador, has resigned. The reason for his quitting was given as “personal. “

Dr. Tov, who was born in Buenos Aires, was a practicing physician for a number of years. Four years before Statehood, he joined the political department of the Jewish Agency. Last winter, an announcement was made that Dr. Tov had been appointed Israel Ambassador to Mexico. However, he had not assumed the Mexican post when his resignation was announced.
