Sir Oswald Mosley, leader of British fascists, was cheered and jeered, denounced as a would-be Hitler and hailed for the same reason, when he delivered a speech yesterday in Trafalgar Square, announcing his candidacy for Parliament.

While some men yelled “Down with Hitler, ” others cried: “Sieg Heil’.,” as Mosley spoke. As some of the Mosley adherents cheered him, others cried: “Gestapo!” and “Down with Mosley!” He spoke for a full hour and boasted he would be elected to Parliament. One man in the Mosley audience was arrested, charged with creating a disturbance.
