Classes returned to normal today at Hebrew University, after students ended a five-day strike against higher tuition fees, when University officials met the walk-out by suspending all University activities.

The strikers wavered after the suspension yesterday, and sought a compromise in line with a proposal by Prime Minister David Ben Gurion for a two-week no-strike period, during which he would review the student demands. The striking students had rejected the Prime Minister’s proposal and quit classes Friday. They decided to accept it today when it was offered again.
