Major events of Jewish life in 1958 are reviewed in the new edition of the American Jewish Year Book which has now made its appearance. The volume devotes over 120 pages to events in the United States of direct interest to Jews and carries reports on the Middle East situation and its repercussions in the United States.

Statistics of Jewish population include a comparison of the Year Books’ estimates of the Jewish population in the U. S. in 1957 with the results of a U. S. Bureau of the Census study released in February 1958; world Jewish population data; directories of organizations and periodicals in the United States.
