King Mohamed V of Morocco, who is currently resting at a Swiss lakeside spa in Montreaux, gave an audience yesterday to three leading Moroccan Jews, it was reported here today.
According to the report, the three-man delegation asked the King for permission for a number of small Jewish communities in southern Morocco to resettle in the main cities. The three leaders also reportedly mentioned to the King the dangers for Moroccan Jewry which might develop from the forthcoming Arab League conference in Casablanca at which it was expected the issue of Israel-Arab relations would be raised.
The delegation also reportedly raised with the King the possibility of Moroccan Jewish emigration to Israel. The King’s aide at Montreaux refused to confirm the report. The delegation was understood to have been led by M. Bolbol of Casablanca.
