“Face of the Land,” a half-hour television film produced by the national office of the United Jewish Appeal for use in the 1959 campaign, has been selected as among the top 50 documentaries shown on TV stations over the country during the past year. “Variety,” the show business weekly, polled television program directors of major TV stations in all parts of the nation in making its survey. Selections were made from public service films produced by business, industry and community organizations.
The film, which was shot on location in Israel, is narrated by Rabbi Herbert A, Friedman executive vice chairman of the United Jewish Appeal. Israel’s population provides the cast for this moving portrayal of a growing nation.
