The final regular weekly session of the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, began today before the House adjourns to enable its members to campaign for re-election in the November elections. The Knesset, however, can be convened for special sessions until the newly-elected Parliament assembles after the elections.
The Knesset is expected to pass this week several bills in final readings. These will include an amendment of the Civil Service Law, restricting political and fund-raising activities of government employes, as well as an amendment broadening the privileges of foreign investors.
