American Jewish war veterans and members of the Jewish Legion in World War I were among hundreds of New Yorkers who participated today in a pilgrimage to the grave of Vladimir Jabotinsky, late founder and leader of the world Zionist Revisionist movement, on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of his death. Mr. Jabotinsky is buried at the New Montefiore Cemetery, Long Island, New York.
The Zionist Revisionist leader, who was also the founder of Irgun Zvai Leumi, the Revisionist underground fighters against the British mandatory regime in Palestine, died in 1940 at the Erit Trumpeldor Camp, near New York. Participating in today’s pilgrimage to his grave were also delegations from Israel and Latin America. An El Al plane brought earth from Israel to cover Jabotinsky’s grave.
