The appointment of actress Cornelia Otis Skinner as national chairman of Brotherhood Week, to be observed February 21-28, was announced today by the National Conference of Christians and Jews, sponsors of the annual event.

This is the first time a woman has been named to head the Brotherhood Week observance which began in 1934. In urging all communities to start planning for the observance, Miss Skinner said “we cannot call ourselves a completely free democracy if within our fine land there exists racial hatred.”
