Israel Starts Discussions in Washington on Loan from World Bank

Discussion of a World Bank loan to Israel for development projects and enterprises was opened here this week-end. Israel Finance Minister Levi Eshkol and David Horowitz, Governor of the Bank of Israel, called on president Eugene Black of the World Bank to discuss the new loan.

The question of a World Bank loan to the United Arab Republic to be used for improvement of the Suez Canal was discussed last Thursday at the State Department by UAR Ambassador Mostafa Kamel. After talking with Under Secretary of State C. Douglas Dillon, the ambassador told reporters he reviewed relations between the two countries, especially from the economic point of view.
