Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, in projecting Israel’s future growth trends, asserted today that both population and industry must be spread throughout the country and not concentrated in the central Tel Aviv and Haifa areas.

Speaking before the convention of the Histadrut Agricultural Workers Association, he predicted that expansion of rural industry would diminish differences between rural and urban settlement sectors. He also predicted that there would be an increase in immigration compared with the first ten years and that the labor movement and the collective movement in Israel would become united.
