Belgian Senate Gets Bill to Make Hate Slogans a Penal Offense

Senator Henry Rolin, president of the Socialist group and of the Justice Commission in the Belgian Senate, today sent to the Senate a bill to make the daubing of swastikas and hate-inciting slogans a penal offence. A number of other Senators, including Catholics, Liberals and Socialists, added their sponsorship to the measure which provides penalties for offenders of up to a year in prison.
