Minister of the Interior Gustavo Diaz Ordaz today assured a delegation representing the Mexican Central Jewish Committee that energetic steps were being taken against any anti-Semitic hate peddlers in Mexico. The delegation had called on Mr. Diaz Ordaz, who is Acting President while President Adolfo Lopes Mateos is on a tour of South America, to request government action in the face of Mexico’s current swastika epidemic.

Mr. Diaz Ordaz told the members of the delegation that the Mexican Government was fully in sympathy with the country’s Jewish community and would never tolerate any form of anti-Semitism which it considers to be against the best traditions of Mexico.
