The second conference of European rabbis concluded today with expression of the hope that representatives of East European communities would Join in the third conference in 1961.
The rabbinical delegates sent greetings to the spiritual leaders and members of the Jewries of Eastern Europe “whom we consider to be an integral part of the world community of Jews” and thanked them for the “sincere words of greetings” which the conference received from them.
The 35 rabbis included representation from Britain, Ireland, France, Holland, Belgium, West Germany, and a representative of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America. They adopted a number of resolutions designed to strengthen Orthodox and to oppose non-Orthodox tendencies.
