Adenauer Accepts Blaustein Bid to Aid Education in Germany

Chancellor Konrad Adenauer strongly endorsed today a proposal of the American Jewish Committee that leading West German educators be invited to the United States to exchange views with American educators in the teaching of civic responsibility in West German schools.

The Chancellor made his views known when he received Jacob Blaustein, honorary president of the American Jewish Committee, The two men also discussed the urgency of intensifying political education in West Germany, and the need for an increased alertness concerning neo-Nazi groups.

“Although the building of a sound democracy is the primary responsibility of the German people and its leaders, other countries should cooperate in advising and assisting democratic efforts in every way possible, ” Mr. Blaustein told the Chancellor.
