Teen-agers Placed on Probation for Defacing Utica Synagogue

Three teen-aged vandals were placed on three years’ probation here yesterday and ordered to pay damages for defacing a local Jewish synagogue with swastikas and anti-Semitic inscriptions last April.

Oneida County Judge John J. Walsh, suspended a Jail sentence for the youths but ruled that they must keep a 10:30 p. m. curfew during the three-year period; abstain from alcoholic beverages and surrender their drivers’ licenses. Judge Walsh also ordered the youths to earn $560 each to pay damages to the synagogue. Temple Emanu-El.
