New York Jewish Federation Sets $21, 250, 000 As Goal for 1960-61 Drive

The Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York today announced that it will seek to raise $21, 250, 000 in its 43rd annual appeal which opens officially on October 4.

Irving Mitchell Felt, campaign chairman, announcing the goal, said that the Federation is appealing for $2, 650, 000 more than was raised last year in order to meet steadily rising costs and to enable the agencies to serve the greater numbers of persons expected to apply for help, Mr. Felt said that the $21, 250, 000 goal represents the philanthropic share of approximately $80, 000, 000 that will be spent by the 116 affiliated Jewish agencies in providing services to more than 750, 000 New Yorkers of all faiths.
