Vice President Richard M. Nixon repeated today a pledge that the question of Middle East peace “will be one of the top priorities of the new Administration if I am elected President.”
In a letter to David Borowitz, Chicago manufacturer and Jewish communal leader, made public here today. Mr. Nixon noted that “the problems in the Mid-East, affecting Israel and her neighbors, have been many and complex, and many remain. I hope these will be solved peacefully, to the mutual benefit of all concerned, and I have pledged that this will be one of the top priorities of the new Administration, if I am elected President.”
Mr. Nixon declared that “this will be the cause for many conferences and discussions and, as I have always done in the past, I shall call upon my good friends to discuss these problems and give serious consideration to the proposals that will aid this country in its quest for peaceful solutions of problems affecting domestic and international issues.”
