Israel Starts Producing Perfume; Will Be Sold to Tourists Only

Production has begun of Israel’s first perfume, manufactured from acacia and a variety of other local flower scents, it was announced here today by Lola Beer, Israel’s famous fashion designer.

The perfume, named “Dimona,” will be sold only to tourists and for export. Current production of the high-grade type of perfume is the result of tests and experimentation over a period of two years. A sample shipment of $10,000 worth of the perfume has already been sent to the United States while another shipment will be sent shortly.
