The budgetary needs of the overseas vocational education program of the American ORT Federation in 19 countries will be considered at the organization’s annual convention which opens here tomorrow, it was announced today by George J. Mintzer, convention chairman. Some 500 delegates are expected.
Dr. William Haber, American ORT president, said the network of 650 trade schools in the 19 countries was the largest non-Governmental education system of its kind in the world. He added that with technical education receiving priority consideration everywhere, the demand for ORT services had risen sharply, creating new problems of financing to be considered at the convention.
