The Board of Deputies of British Jews called on the Moroccan Government today “to restore and maintain the rights of the Jewish citizens of Morocco in accordance with the undertakings of the Moroccan Government at the time Morocco achieved independence and obtained membership in the United Nations. “
In its statement, the Board expressed”deep concern with the worsening position of Moroccan Jews, ” citing the anti-Jewish agitation in Morocco “and other discriminations” against Jews there. The statement expressed the belief that “the good name of all countries, and their influence among the nations, depend on fairness, justice and humane treatment of all inhabitants and minorities.”
