Kurt Becher, former Nazi Elite Guard officer who assisted Adolf Eichmann in the annihilation of Hungarian Jewry, will appear as a witness for the prosecution in the Eichmann trial, according to Yoel Brandt, a former leader of Hungarian Jewry, who returned here today from Germany. Becher was the head of the SS Economic Office at Budapest, capital of Hungary, during the time Hungarian Jews were being deported under Eichmann’s orders to death camps.

A member of Israel’s Parliament, Rabbi Shlomo Lorincz, representing the Orthodox Agudat Israel, today requested Justice Minister Pinhas Rosen to give a reason why the Nazi looting of Hungerian Jewish property had not been included in the Eichmann indictment. Moshe Sneh, Communist member of Parliament, made a similar inquiry of Mr. Rosen.

Three thousand men, some wearing the striped garb of the Nazi camps, marched through the crowded streets of Tel Aviv yesterday in a “death for Eichmann” demonstration. The march was organized prior to the opening of the Eichmann trial by the Communist-sponsored Anti-Nazi Fighters Organization. Every marcher wore the yellow Mogen David, inscribed with the word “Jude,” which the Nazis forced Jews to wear in Europe.
