Bernard G. Richards, founder and director of the Jewish Information Bureau, which answers inquiries on Jewish, subjects, was honored at a luncheon at the Hotel Wellington, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the JIB.
Speakers paying tribute to Mr. Richard’s public work in various fields included Robert Szold, Louis Lipsky, Louis Segal and others. Mr. Lipsky recalled the early service of the guest in the beginning of the Zionist movement, the American Jewish Congress and related endeavors. Mr. Richards spoke of the early attempts to organize American Jewry, represented by the Kehilla, the Jewish Congress, and the Jewish Conference, in which he actively participated.
