Montreal University Alters Registration Schedules for Rosh Hashanah

Special arrangements have been made by the administration of Sir George Williams’ University here, so that Jewish students, registering for attendance during the coming academic year, will not have to violate their religious principles by registering on Rosh Hashanah or on Yom Kippur, it was announced today by Rabbi S. Cass, director of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation here.

Under arrangements earlier announced by the university, certain registrations were to be recorded either on Rosh Hashanah or on the eve of Yom Kippur. The registrar of the university has conveyed to Dr. Cass the administration’s “deep regret” over these schedules, and has altered the schedules to accommodate the Jewish students.
