The number of Jewish immigrants to Canada during the January-September 1961 period fell to 1,077 as compared with 1,810 who arrived in the corresponding nine months of 1960, the Canadian Jewish Congress reported today.

Citing figures from the Canadian Immigration Department, the organization said that the fall apparently reflected a general dip in immigration to Canada, which was described as “running at an all-time low.” A total of 390 Jews came to Canada in the third quarter of 1961.
