An official of the United States Operations Mission in Israel disclosed today that the USOM, in cooperation with the Israel Government, was planning to establish a number of specialized professional and agricultural institutes in Israel.
Dr. Carl Ferderer of the USOM’s industry, mining and transportation division, said that one of the institutes would be a “residential management school, ” another would be a “Home Economics school.”
He said the USOM also planned to construct buildings for the National and University Agricultural Institute at Rehovot, and an industrial service center to house all training institutes receiving USOM aid, such as the Productivity Center and to develop the Consumer’s Union.
The building activity will be financed by counterpart funds arising from the United States grant in aid, at the rate of $2, 000,000 a year.
