The Confederation of Brazilian Jewish Organizations pushed efforts today to obtain a government ban on sale of a new locally published edition of Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

The Confederation first checked with the West German Embassy to determine whether the local publisher, Mestre Jou, had violated copyright procedures in issuing the new edition. Then a delegation of the Confederation, together with a Brazilian War Veterans group, met with Minister of Justice Alfredo Nasser and asked for a ban on the book. The Minister promised prompt and favorable action.
