The Central Council of Jews in Germany issued a warning today against “an alarming increase” recently in the number of neo-Nazi periodicals being circulated in West Germany. This is the second warning issued by the Council within the last two weeks.
Today’s statement, issued after a meeting of the Council’s executive in Munich, asserted that the periodicals “belittled Nazi crimes, ” minimized Jewish suffering during the Nazi era “and discredited in the most shameless way the West German Jewish community.” The Council said that West German youth were being “influenced negatively” by the upsurge of neo-Nazi propaganda.
