Seven Israeli Arabs were arrested today in the Galilee region, on suspicion of having aided and sheltered Syrian saboteurs who planted anti-vehicle mines near the national pipeline in the North.

The arrests followed the explosion of some mines near Kibbutz Beeri, when the explosives were touched off by some Israeli tractors used in the area. No one was hurt in the explosion.

Israeli authorities view the case of the seven suspects with extreme gravity, since this is the first time local Arabs have aided the attempts by Syrians to sabotage the national development project.
