Dissatisfaction with the newly adopted amendment to an Austrian law which would provide some restitution to former Austrians who had been persecuted by the Nazis, was expressed here today by members of the World Association of Jews from Austria. They declared that they will continue to press for more adequate compensation from the Vienna Government under the legislation.

Former Austrian Jews will receive “absurdly small” amounts of compensation as advance payments toward restitution, leaders of the organization said. They declared they will continue to assert their rights to adequate compensation for losses suffered under the Nazi regime in Austria, comparable to the rates granted by the West German Government.
