Synagogues, Jewish clubs and the Israeli Consulate here have been placed under special police guard since the execution by Israel of Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi war criminal who directed the mass killing of 6,000,000 European Jews. No incidents have been reported here in connection with the execution, which received generally favorable editorial reaction in the local press. Mention was made, however, of Brazil’s opposition to the death penalty.

The activities of B’nai B’rith in Brazil, particularly in the fields of human relations and Jewish education, were reviewed here today at the convention here of the organization’s regional council attended by some 60 delegates representing B’nai B’rith lodges throughout the country. Justinus Einstoss was chairman of the event.
