Twelve members of the Central Conference of American Rabbis sent a cablegram to President Izhak Ben-Zvi of Israel, supporting his refusal to save Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi mass-murderer, from the gallows. This cablegram repudiates as “unauthorized” the cablegram sent last week by the Rabbis Minda and Feuer in the name of the Central Conference asking for clemency to Eichmann.

The cablegram to the President of Israel was signed by the following rabbis: Theodore N. Lewis, Jerome Unger, Louis I. Newman, Alvan D. Rubin, Bernhard Cohn, Harold Krantzler, Louis Satlow, Jacob Polish, A. Alan Steinbach, Herschel Levin, Max Schenk and Emanuel Schenk.
