Professor Ernest Boris Chain, Jewish Nobel Prize scientist currently visiting Argentina, and being hailed by many of the leading scholars in this country, was awarded an honorary doctorate today at ceremonies at the University of Cordova.
Before going to Cordova to receive the latest honor accorded him in this country, Prof. Chain told newsmen that many of the leading Christians in Argentina have assured him that the wave of anti-Semitism here was caused by “isolated hooligans” who do not represent the true feelings of the Argentine people. He is touring South America to give a series of lectures under the auspices of the World Jewish Congress and will visit Chile, Uruguay and Brazil.
