The long-pending exchange of German and Austrian ratifications of the agreement between the two countries, whereby both will share in compensating Austrian victims of Nazism and other Austrian nationals who suffered losses during the Nazi regime, will take place next month, it was stated here today. Following the ratifications, first payments to Austrian victims of Nazism are expected to be made next autumn.

Germany had pledged itself to pay $80,000,000 toward the total program, while the Austrian Government has still not made public the amount it intends to pay. The entire program includes not only victims of Nazism but various other categories of persons who have claims due to the wartime Nazi regime here. The number of Jews affected has also as yet not been made public.
